Linear-A Hannibal Makes a Triumphal Entry in Italy - Part 2

 I'm back with part two of the Linear-A set. This time I painted three out of five poses reflecting barbarian mercenaries fighting for Carthage during Punic wars. I probably won't paint all of the poses, as I simply don't like some of them all that much, but we will see I guess. Enjoy!

Celtic Army Completed

My ancient Celtic army is finally completed! It consists of:

4x Warband Bases(infantry)
2x Horsemen Bases(calvary)
1x Slinger Base(skirmishers)

Which is more than enough to play Neil Thomas's One Hour Wargames ruleset. Miniatures are 1/72 scale by Italeri and Caesar. 38 infantry miniatures and 10 horsemen. Enjoy the photos!

More Celts join the warband!

OK, here we go! I painted up another 12 Celtic warriors , which makes another infantry stand and command section of my army. Miniatures are 1/72 scale made by Italeri and Caesar with several conversions done.

As far as painting goes, no new techniques used mostly practised face painting and added some extra highlights.

Figures are based for Neil Thomas's One Hour Wargames (which as always I strongly recommend).

In addition i painted a Commander an a wounded solider. I made bases out of bottle caps.

Actually, I have a question how do you feel about painting eyes on 20mm (1/72 scale) miniatures?
Now as I paint regullary, I'm going to post something at least once a month to help my blog grow!

The dreaded Celts

I finished first unit of British Celts for my new project.They are based on 100mm by 60mm base, which is suitable for most rules I'm interested in - Hail Caesar, Impetus and One Hour Wargames by Neil Thomas.

Unit consists of 9 Italeri miniatures with some conversions done.

I recently picked up a copy of Daniel Mersey A wargamer's guide to the early roman empire and recommend this book to everyone interested in this period.

My first minis!

Welcome to my blog!

These are my first minis ( not counting a few test ones - the sacrifice of those poor plastic man will never be forgotten ). They came out from Italeri Gauls set. Photos are not the best quality, but you have to start off something :) . 

    Two of them.

                                 

                       Finished painting 3rd one but I messed up paint on his shield
                       while gluing it to his hand (any tips? , Do you first paint a shield,
                       then glue it or paint it when its on place?)

                               I'm realy not happy how the war paint on his skin turned out.

                               Any tips on painting shields? Should I give it a yellow drybrush?

                              I think they turned out pretty nice (they are first after all :D )
                              Any tips / feedback appreciated. And sorry about gramatical or
                              language mistakes.
