As far as painting goes, no new techniques used mostly practised face painting and added some extra highlights.
Figures are based for Neil Thomas's One Hour Wargames (which as always I strongly recommend).
In addition i painted a Commander an a wounded solider. I made bases out of bottle caps.
Now as I paint regullary, I'm going to post something at least once a month to help my blog grow!
More Celts to come! Stay tuned!
Painting eyes on 1/72 - I don't bother, too much hard work for me :) I do wash of light brown on the face to bring up the features.
ReplyDeleteNow that I just started painting another 2 stands of infantry, decided to keep painting eyes on 1/72 as they add some personality to minis.

ReplyDeletePainting eyes on 1/72nd? Why not :-) Me...For "mass effect" then shading and highlighting to give a representation, ..for "specialist" bods, ie; Valdemar personalities or if I´m painting for someone, then I do, especially if asked to, paint the eyes but TBH, I use a trick, which is a bit difficult to explain, which isn´t actually entirely painting.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day, painting style is a personal Thing...if one is happy with the result..then it´s good :-)
PS..I like waht you´ve done with the celts..especially adding the warpaint/Tattoos
Thanks Paul! I decided to paint eyes as I don't have to speed-paint masive armies (only like 10 minis for painting session).
